The Hyrcanian forests are a biological area in the south of the Caspian Sea and the northern side of the Alborz mountain range; which hosts 296 species of birds and 98 species of mammals, including the Iranian leopard. Also, 150 native plant species can be found in this area, many of which are in danger of extinction.

This vegetation is considered to be one of the most valuable forests in the world with the age of several tens of millions of years, but in the past decades due to the rapid construction development, unethical harvesting of resources, indiscriminate grazing and the unsustainable development of the tourism industry in this region, it has caused destruction and The loss of many plant and animal species.
The area of ​​this forest is 55,000 square meters, which occupies about 7% of the total area of ​​Iran. Unfortunately, we have lost 51% of these forests and currently only 10% of them are protected.
